2nd Sustaining Fees Due 31st May
Breeders Crown UK & Irelands next payment is due by 31st May with the final race payment not due until 31st July. We do this to space payments out and enable the owners and trainers to make informed decisions on whether to continue payments based on the progress of the horses training. It may be the case the horse is not progressing as it should and needs a little more time. You can then discontinue the payments for this year. Some owners and trainers have no desire to race horses at 2YO, but the first payment has to be made in order to compete in the series as a 3yo and 4yo.
Breeders Crown UK & Ireland will be held at Tir Prince Raceway on Saturday 27th August 2022.
Last year in 2021, it was very competitive amongst the stallions with no less than seven different stallions producing winners out of nine races. The track record at Tir Prince for 2YO Colts & Geldings was broken by Rhyds Scoundral (See And Ski/Rhyds Hasty Affair) in a time of 1:59.9 givng the owner/trainer Paddy Kane Snr a first prize of £6,000. It was driven to victory by son Patrick Kane Jnr.
Top stallion overall was Foreclosure, and top 2YO sire went to Sweet Lou.
This year promises to be yet even more interesting and competitive with the addition of Always B Miki, Henry Hill, and Tom Hill having their first crop race as 2 year olds.
