A Fantastic Day of Racing on 22nd August
Despite being held on a Tuesday, and incorrect starting times being published, there was a comfortable crowd attending the Breeders Crown UK & Ireland at Tir Prince on 22nd August, and for those unable to attend in person, they were able to purchase live streaming of the event courtesy of Tir Prince. For those there in person and those watching the streaming, they were treated to some spectacular racing, close calls, and track records being broken.
Overall, it was a great meeting with £72K in prize money being divided up amongst the winners and placed horses. As it’s all about the breeding, 8 different stallions were all represented in the top five places over the full race card on the night. The highlight for me on the night was in the second 2 Year Old Colts & Geldings Final with Money Hill (Tom Hill/Racezapan) 1.58.6 and Onefortheroad (See and Ski/Brown Eyed Girl)1.58.7 both beating the track record which was only brocken 10 days earlier by Onefortheroad at the VDM meeting in a time of 1.59.6, previously set by Rhyds Scoundral (See and Ski/Rhyds Hasty Affair) 1.59.9 in 2021 Breeders Crown at Tir Prince, and Money Hill and Onefortheroad also beat the British record for 2 Year Old Colts held by Stamp Hill 1.59.4 since 2012.
All the races will be available to watch on the website soon.
